I know because he was driving my car and I was in the passenger seat. (No, there were no drugs or drinking involved - I’m his Aunt.) Through the attack, one of the cops got a black eye. The rest of us grown-ups only hate the ones who only joined the force so they can carry a gun, drive fast, and push people around because they got too many wedgies in high school. Anyone heard of Rodney King? Him and his situation can teach everyone something. First, YES, there are cops out there that will beat you down without just cause. I know a couple good cops but I’ve seen with my own eyes several cops who were on huge ego trips. 5 cops beat down a a teenager for rolling thru a stop sign. No lie. I know because he was driving my car and I was in the passenger seat. (No, there were no drugs or drinking involved - I’m his Aunt.) Through the attack, one of the cops got a black eye. No one knows who really hit him or how he got hit. Anyway, the teen got put in a ‘juvenile facility’ for 9 months. Small town cops who are bigger dicks than they have in their pants. I used to think they really were here to ’serve and protect’. Nowadays, if you hear the words “place your hands behind your back” - be ready to bend over and kiss your ass goodbye.

It’s teenagers (physically or mentally) that “hate all cops”. The rest of us grown-ups only hate the ones who only joined the force so they can carry a gun, drive fast, and push people around because they got too many wedgies in high school. Thankfully, they’re a minority - but they make all the good cops look bad. Now about this “first to respond” horseshit - you and I both know after the 911 call is made, the cops show up when everything’s over but the crying. Luckily, I live in a “make my day” state, and I feel perfectly comfortable reaching for the Ithaca DSPS before I reach for the phone.

Anyone heard of Rodney King? Him and his situation can teach everyone something. First, YES, there are cops out there that will beat you down without just cause. (Personally I think the gun is compensating for something and they need to feel something hard and longer than 3 inches occasionally) Second, “Can’t we all just get along?” : a quote that will live on far past our exsistence for the simple reason that after a man gets beaten by 4 cops, he still has the prosperity and gumption to give those 4 fucktards a chance to realize they made a mistake and sacrifice what they need to in order for true justice to prevail.
